First Lunar eclipse of the year on Jan 10

Hyderabad: According to the information furnished by Mr. B.G. Siddhart, Director of B.M. Birla Science centre, the first lunar eclipse of the year could be sighted on 10th January.

On that night, the Moon will be higher than its usual position.

In case the weather conditions remain normal, lunar eclipse could be sighted in Hyderabad also.

The duration of the eclipse would be 4 hours and nine minutes.

Talking to Siasat News, the Director of Nehru Planetarium, Pranjape told that at 10.35 p.m. on 10th January, the Moon will hide in the dual shade and after an hour and five minutes at 12.40 midnight, on 10th January, full lunar eclipse would occur and after two hours four minutes, i.e. at 2.44 a.m. the moon will come out of the dual shade. The total duration of the lunar eclipse will be four hours and 9 minutes. Solar eclipse will be on 21st June 2020.
