Fire at Owaisi Hospital, None Hurt, Panic Gripped in Patients

A fire mishap occurred on the sixth floor of the Owaisi Hospital on Friday, gutting old hospital records, bill books, case-sheets and a few records, all of which were kept in one of the rooms.

The fire control room received a call at about 2.13 pm and fire tenders from Malakpet, Gowliguda, Moghalpura and Musheerabad were rushed to the spot.

Panic gripped patients, doctors and other staffers after fire broke out in Owaisi Hospital at Santoshnagar on Friday afternoon. No one was injured in the incident.

South Zone District Fire Officer Salem Khan said necessary precautions were taken to prevent flames from spreading to other floors. Fire could have originated after a burnt cigarette butt was thrown in the storeroom, he explained.
