A major fire broke out in a slipper godown abutting Nayab Hotel near Nayapul yesterday night. 4 fire extinguishers were called to put off the fire. Fire fighters were successful in dousing the blaze after one hour. Police officials suspect electrical short circuit to be a reason behind the blaze.
The shops adjoining the godown were also evacuated as a precautionary measure so that the fire could not spread further. The thick black smoke billowed at Nayapul and Chattabazar area due to the blaze.
