Srinagar, December 11: Fire broke out in a shopping complex in Maisuma locality here, which witnessed a day-long fierce clash between protestors and police today.
The fire started from a shop at Maisuma this evening and engulfed a shopping complex, official sources said.
As the area was witnessing a fierce clash between groups of youth and police, Fire and Emergency Services had a tough time in reaching the scene to douse the flames, sources said adding that the cause of the fire was not known immediately.
However, locals alleged that fire was caused by indiscriminate teargas shelling by Police.
“Efforts are on to control the fire. Our men and machines are on the job,” a spokesman of the Fire and Emergency Services told .
