Fire breaks out in hosiery factory in Ludhiana

A massive fire broke out at a hosiery factory in Ludhiana on Friday night.

The fire, which burned for 11 hours through the night, has caused two floors of the factory to collapse.

“The fire broke out at around 10 o clock in the night. We immediately rushed fire tenders to the spot. We used 5-6 points to bring the fire under control. Since the fire burned for so long, it has caused structural issues with the building. As of now the building is safe though the damage is extensive,” fire officer Bhupinder Singh told ANI.

“Around 80 percent of the fire has been brought under control, and we

have managed to remove items which could act as fuel. However the

factory had a lot of textile materials and they acted as fuel. But the

fire is under control,” he added. (ANI)
