A major fire broke out in Darussalam Cooperative Bank, Husaini Alam Branch yesterday night. Sources said that seeing the smoke emanating from the bank premises, local people informed police control and fire service. In a short time fire engines belonging to Husaini Alam police and Moghalpura fire station reached the spot.
It took two hours for the fire extinguishers to douse the fire. It is believed that the computer, furniture and other items present in the bank burned to ashes. Police suspect that short circuit might be the cause behind the fire. Police told that lockers and other documents remained unharmed in the incident.
