FIR registered against cricketer Mohammed Shami

NEW DELHI: FIR registered against senior Indian pacer Mohammad Shami on Friday under sections of attempt to murder and torture.

The move came after Hasina Jahan, Shami’s wife, lodged a complaint against the Bengal pacer in Lalbazar police station in Kolkata.

Police have confirmed the development and Kolkata police women’s grievance cell has initiated probe against the UP-born bowler and along with five of his other family members. Also an additional charge of sexual assault has been initiated against Shami’s brother.

Hasin had earlier alleged that Shami abused her physically and mentally and is also involved in several extra-marital affairs.

Hasin Jahan on Thursday had also alleged that Indian fast bowler was involved in match fixing.

However, Shami has refuted all the allegation leveled against him and said that someone was misleading his wife.
