FIR against Flipkart founders for alleged cheating

Bengaluru: An FIR has been lodged against Flipkart founders, Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal for allegedly ‘cheating’ a businessman for 9.96 crores, as per the police.

Officials said the case has been registered in connection with non-payment of dues by Flipkart to C-Store Company for laptops it supplied.

According to the complainant, Naveen Kumar, the C-Store had contracted with Flipkart for supplying laptops and other electronic goods for the sales on Flipkart and supplied about 14,000 laptops, police said as per News 18.

Flipkart returned around 1,480 items and did not pay for the remaining, as well as for the shipping, Kumar said.

The case is booked, under several sections of IPC, including cheating and criminal breach of trust, an investigation official said.

While Flipkart denied the charges and stated: “The complaint filed is false and baseless. Flipkart strongly denies all the allegations and averments made in the FIR in entirety. Further, Flipkart is exploring all available legal possibilities to safeguard its interests, including but not limited to initiating proceedings for defamation against the complainant. The FIR appears to be nothing but an endeavour to harass and pressurise the company to succumb to baseless demands.”
