Lucknow, July 10: Uttar Pradesh government has filed an FIR in connection with the 23 missing files relating to the Ayodhya title case in court.
The FIR was registered by A K Singh, OSD, communalism control cell of the state Home department at Hazratganj police station late on Thursday night, Secretary, Home, Mahesh Kumar Gupta told on Friday.
The FIR was filed as the state government had to appear before the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court which will hear the Ayodhya title suit on Friday.
The court had asked the state counsel about the action taken in connection with the missing files and the government had sought time for explanation.
State Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta had earlier appeared before the court on July 7 for the hearing.
