Chennai, February 22: A day after the body of CPI-M leader W R Varadarajan, whose sudden disappearance was shrouded in mystery, was identified by his wife, police today said the fingerprints have tallied.
“It is confirmed (that it is Varadarajan). The fingerprints tallied,” Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Shakeel Akhtar told PTI.
Asked if DNA test would be carried out despite the fingerprints proof, he said a requisition has been made but “any one scientific proof” was enough as part of the probe.
A post mortem was conducted today and the report would be available after a few days, he said, adding investigation would, however, go on.
