A private finance company’s agent was today shot dead and robbed Rs one lakh on NH-107 in Madhepura district, a police officer said.
The incident took place near Mithahi dhala as some armed assailants intercepted the SKS Micro Finance company’s
collection agent Rajiv Ranjan Bharti’s bike and fatally shot at him from close range before looting a bag containing Rs
one lakh cash from him, Madhepura police station in-charge Naveen Kumar Singh said.
Bharti (32) was returning to home in Madhepura town after collecting money from clients in rural villages, he
said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and raids were being carried out to nab the culprits, Singh said.
