Finance Bill Passed in LS

New Delhi, April 29: UPA government mustered up adequate strength for passing Finance Bill 2010-11 in Lok Sabha it passed without any hitch.The main opposition Party BJP staged a walkout.

The Lok Sabha on Thursday passed the Finance Bill for 2010-11

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee moved the bill, along with some fresh amendments, after a 50-minute final reply to the debate in the lower house of parliament, which was then passed by a voice vote.

Here are the tax concessions announced by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee:

* Government approves debt relief package for coffee growers
* Tax concessions for hospitals with at least 100 beds
* Service tax on domestic air travel at maximum of Rs 100 per ticket
* Service tax on international travel at max of Rs 500/ticket
* Flights to and from North East exempted from service tax
* Government to cut excise duty on hand-rolled local cigarette
* Government exempts low cost housing from service tax
* Government cuts excise duty on paper made from waste
