Railway Board Adviser (Projects) Pradeep Kumar today advised the engineers of S C Railway, HMR and L&T to quickly finalise the construction methodology and construction schedule for the elevated Metro Rail viaduct over the tracks of Indian Railways at the eight railway crossings in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderbad. After inspecting the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) pre-cast yard and depot works at Uppal and pillar construction works between Nagole and Mettuguda here along with HMR Managing Director N V S Reddy and senior engineers of S C Railway and L&T, Mr Kumar said he was impressed by the magnitude, speed and quality of works at all these locations and congratulated HMR and L&T for creating Asia’s biggest casting yard at Uppal. Establishment of such a large casting yard near the project area speeds up project execution, facilitates better quality control and reduces inconvenience to road users as many components of the Metro Rail viaduct and stations are pre-fabricated in the casting yard itself, he observed.
