Hyderabad, August 04: Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Thursday informed Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy that he has already sent the file relating to deletion of Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders to the office of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his approval.
Mr Chidambaram was replying to Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy’s request, conveyed during an earlier telephonic call, informing the Union Home Minister that getting a second resolution passed by the state Assembly was impossible and urging him to forward the file to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Union Home Minister responded positively to Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy’s telephone call and then, about an hour later, called back, saying that the file has been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Chief Minister made the call to Mr Chidambaram after three Ministers from Telangana, D Sridhar Babu, Komatireddi Venkat Reddy and Basavaraj Saraiah, called on him at the Camp Office and mounted pressure on him to put off the Sub-Inspectors’ recruitment examination till the deletion of the controversial Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders.
Incidentally, three Ministers from Telangana region, Deputy Chief Deputy C Damodar Rajanarasimha, Marketing Minister Mukesh Goud and Minister for Labour Danam Nagender had on Wednesday met the Chief Minister at the C Block of the Secretariat and urged him to persuade the Central government for deletion of the said controversial Clause.
The contentious Clause permits candidates from all the three regions to apply for jobs in the police department in Hyderabad which is currently a ‘Free Zone’.
