Nara Lokesh, son of TDP president Chandrababu Naidu, today said that fighting for people’s burning problems was the only political agenda of the TDP.
Speaking to the media during his tour of Chittoor district, Lokesh said that TDP alone has courage and dynamism to fight the mighty Congress in Andhra Pradesh.
Asked about his position and role in the TDP, Lokesh said he would prefer to remain as an ordinary worker and strive for the party’s success in elections and improve the organisation to deliver allround services to the weaker sections and deprived classes.
It may be mentioned here that on the eve of last Assembly elections, Lokesh Naidu had conceived the concept of cash to farmers for input subsidies (fertilizer and seeds) which was now being implemented by both the UPA and Kiran governments in a phased manner.
Lokesh also said that he would not comment on other political parties or their functioning, but can only say that the Congress and other parties would eclipse and disband themselves and merge with the Congress in the near future. It is the TDP alone that has political will and wherewithal to fight for the Backward Classes, SCs, STs, Minorities and women, he said, adding that the TDP would definitely return to power in 2014.
