Fight will be between YSRC and TDP alone in Seemandhra: Errabelli

Senior leader and TDP Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakara Rao here on Thursday said that the main fight in the ensuing by-elections to 18 Assembly and one Lok Sabha seats would be between the YSR Congress Party and the Telugu Desam party.

Dayakara Rao today performed special pujas in the Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada of Karimnagar district.

Speaking to media persons later, Errabelli said that the electoral fight will be between the YSR Congress and his party in the Seemandhra region. He said that the TDP would extend wholehearted support to former DSP Nalini if she contested from Parakala on behalf of the Telangana Political JAC. He also strongly felt that all the political parties in the region should remain united and come under one platform to make the Centre climb down on the Telangana issue. He appealed to all parties in Telangana region to remain united and contest the elections under one symbol or boycott them.

The TDP Telangana Forum leader said that his party was ready to give another letter to the Centre in favour of Telangana State if Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh specifically asked for it. Dayakara Rao exuded confidence that his party’s victory was certain in the next elections. He also exuded confidence that his party would easily bag four Assembly seats and may get some more if the party cadre made Herculean efforts. Stating that the TDP was keen on exerting pressure on the Centre for Telangana statehood, he said that strategy would be decided at a meeting to be held on Friday.

Another senior TDP leader Mothkupalli Narasimhulu ridiculed Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy saying that the latter was talking like Mahatma Gandhi’s brother on ACB raids on liquor syndicates. The Congress government was looting the State since 2004, he added. (NSS)
