Mumbai: A 45-year-old woman was stabbed by her husband at their home in Khar (west) on Tuesday. Father of nine children, Akhtar murdered her by attacking with a knife. He has been arrested by Khar police.
The 50-year-old allegedly killed his wife, suspecting her of having an extra-marital affair, said an officer. According to the Khar police, the incident took place in a Chawl on Ram Mandir Road at 1.30 am.
“Khan came home drunk and fought with his wife. In a fit of rage, he stabbed her with the knife,” said the officer on condition of anonymity.
Khan fled but soon was nabbed by police. He was booked for murder and produced in a magistrate’s court on Wednesday, he has been taken in Police custody.
