New Delhi: The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) along with several industry members and senior government officials and academia, recently participated in X International IT Forum at Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.
Organised by the Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra region, the forum brought together industry leaders from BRICS and SCO nations as well as other countries to a single platform to interact and discuss collaboration in the fields of information technology and digital transformation.
FICCI received an award during the event, for its support and active participation at the forum, consecutively for two years. The 20-member Indian delegation, which was supported by Indian Embassy at Russia, actively participated in the sector specific seminars and several other B2G and B2B sessions organized by FICCI at the India pavilion.
The prime objective of the visit was to leverage on the unique strengths of the Indian IT industry potential and Russia’s innovative products. The delegation members also explored the partnership and business opportunities in the area of digital and disruptive technologies.
During the opening ceremony of the IT Forum, Alok Raj, Minister (Education), Indian Embassy at Russia Federation highlighted the importance of ICT and Digital Skilling, and how it will become even more important with growing strategic collaborations in various sectors. He emphasized on the importance of strategic partnership between BRICS and SCO members countries.
With the objective to showcase the strength of Indian Information Technology, Start-ups and Electronics Industry, members of India delegation also participated as Exhibitors under the India Pavilion coordinated by FICCI at the forum.
Further, senior members of Indian Delegation gave presentations at the forum covering crucial topics like: Digital Transformation and New Emerging Technologies: Case Study India, Role of new technologies and areas of Collaboration for BRICS members in Smart Cities, Role of new technologies and areas of Collaboration for BRICS members in Smart Cities, India emerging as “Global Manufacturing Hub” for Mobile Phones & Mobile Components, Detection of medical conditions like cancer with Machine Learning, Women’s role in Entrepreneurship and supporting economy, and Role of eCommerce, Retail Technologies, and Marketing in Healthcare sector.
The delegation also met senior officials from Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra to discuss potential areas for future cooperation.
More than 1,500 participants from 55 countries participated in the forum, which has established itself as an international venue for discussion of key issues in development and implementation of digital economy in the region. (ANI)
