Congress party spokesman Mr. Feroz Khan expressed regrets over the stampede at fish medicine camp and consequent death of a person on the occasion. He told that proper arrangement had been made by the government every year at Exhibition ground on the occasion of ‘mirag’, but no untoward incident occurred ever.
This time also the venue was the same until it was shifted to Katedan instead of the regular Exhibition Grounds of Nampally at the eleventh hour, putting thousands of asthma patients from across the country into trouble.
There was no proper arrangement for scores of people arriving there to get fish medicine. They had to wait under scorching sun and there was no proper drinking water arrangement.
‘The incident distorted the image of Hyderabad, the whole responsibility lies on Collector Rangareddy, Joint collector Rangareddy, Cyberabad police commissioner and Medical and Health department.’ He said.
