New Delhi: Chancellor Maulana Azad National University (MANUU), Hyderabad Mr Feroz Bakht Ahmed hailed the Apex Court bench of Justices Rohington Nariman and Abdul Nazeer, for its landmark order, on November 2, in which it took serious note while hearing a petition by a madrasa teacher on not releasing the grant for the beleaguered madarasas registered under the SPQEM (Special Project for Quality Education to Madrasas).
Notices were issued to the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the principal secretaries of 18 states, asking them to forthwith file replies in connection with defying the order of giving salaries to the madrasa teachers.
Mr Feroz Bakht said the court orders are promising and said that it is his long pending wish to establish similar model madrasa in MANUU in which students learn English, maths, science, Hindi, Sanskrit, Geography, Economics and while become the religious scholar. He has submitted an application to Human Resource Development minister Prakash Javadekar in this regard. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also of the view that such madrasa must be established in MANUU.
