Female BBC presenter accuses Sky Sports of using women as mere `window dressings`

BBC presenter Gabby Logan has accused the network of using women as ”window dressing” alongside their male colleagues, while Sky Sports has rejected her claims, saying it employed trained journalists who are passionate about sport. According to The Independent, the BBC presenter, who received her television big break when she was talent-spotted by BSkyB, criticized the role of her successors on the 24-hour Sky Sports News channel, which pairs female and male news-reading anchors. Logan said that the girls were basically wearing a leotard while the bloke was in a suit and tie and there have never been any big breakthrough women on Sky. Meanwhile, Sky Sports defended by saying that while they respected Gabby”s opinion, they were also surprised by the comments as there were many talented women who had developed successful presenting or reporting careers at the network.
