Scholarship Description:
Applications are invited for a research position, with a scope for doing PhD in BITS Pilani KK Birla GOA campus with fellowship. The research work will be focused on degradation of pollutants, in view of Environment and Health. The research work will involve (i) simple Chemical synthesis routes, (ii) chemical analysis such as HPLC and MASS Spectrometry (iii) Antimicrobial assays including basic microbiology, (iv) development of photochemical/solar reactors and outdoor experimentation for identification/ degradation of pollutants in water. Experimentation also involves closely working with a local industry/ ground water contaminated sites and visiting C-CAMP, NCBS-TIFR, and other places for sample analysis. Candidates qualified with M.Sc., Chemistry, Biological Sciences (microbiology, biotech,) M. Tech. Chemical/ biochemical/ Environmental Sciences) may apply. Candidates with CSIR-JRF,(NET), DST INSPIRE and other fellowships will be given preference. The fellowship amount will be as per DST/CSIR/UGC rules (depending on Science/Engineering degree), and Institute rules in case of Institute Fellowships.
