After assigning the responsibility of sanctioning and distribution of scholarships and fees reimbursement, the students belonging to Minority community have not received the amounts of scholarships and fees reimbursement so far.
Now that the academic year has come to an end, the students and their parents are worried as the academic year is coming to an end. Their educational institutions would be changed and they may migrate to other states for higher studies. It is said that from B.C’s Welfare, online key has not been released to A.P. State Minorities Finance Corporation yet.
So far, Minorities Finance Corporation had the authority to release scholarship and fees reimbursement amount. According to the present arrangement, Minorities Finance Corporation would function only as a postman.
It is reported that the officials of B.C’s Welfare are still engaged in the scrutiny of the applications.
Minorities Finance Corporation has, not received forms from many colleges. The officers of the Finance Corporation are making rounds of Secretariat and the office of the B.C’s Welfare Department.
When the scam Rs.56 crore came to limelight, Govt. took away the powers from Minorities Finance Corporation and entrusted the job to B.C’s Welfare Department.
Last year, 75% of the work of releasing scholarships and fees reimbursement amount was completed by this time by Minorities Finance Corporation.
At this juncture, it may not be out of place to mention that a few officials of the Govt. who were hostile to minority officers getting awards were jealous of them. They were waiting for the opportune time to take away the powers of distribution of scholarships and fees reimbursements from Minorities Finance Corporation.
It is deplorable that there is none to raise any voice in favor of Minorities Finance Corporation today. The officers simply abide by the orders of the officials of Secretariat. They can’t say anything on their own.
The Minister of Minority Affairs also seems to have no interest in this regard.
