Feeling of being targeted disappoints Muslims

Hyderabad, September 14: Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed, President, AP State Jameeatul Ulema welcomed the recent speech of Dr. Manmohan Singh in National Integration Council about the feeling of dissatisfaction among the Muslims of being targeted in every act of terrorism. He said that the speech of the Prime Minister is very encouraging. During the recent incidents, Muslims are indiscriminately being targeted and the Muslim youths are being arrested without any proof. They were subjected to severe corporeal punishments. This has created a sense of insecurity among the Muslims.

The National Investigation Agency has find out that the Muslims are not involved in any of the bomb blast incidents. Innocent Muslim youths were unnecessarily targeted.

In such circumstances, the statement of the Prime Minister is very encouraging and it a welcome gesture. This also reveals the mind of the Government. It gives a direction to the investigating agencies to proceed in the right direction to expose the real culprits.

He hoped that the Chief Ministers of various states and the Foreign Ministers will also adopt this stand to avoid targeting the Muslims in future.

He further said that Islam does not preach terrorism. Under an organized way a conspiracy is being hatched against the Muslims to deface their impression.

The Prime Minister has expressed his views depicting his intellectual talents. It will boost the morale of the Muslims.

He recollected that at the national level, Jameeatul Ulema had represented this matter to Congress President Ms. Sonia Gandhi and Dr. Manmohan Singh. The Jameeatul Ulema had suggested some amendments in Anti-Communal Riots Bill also. The Prime Minister had given an assurance that necessary action would be taken. He has, thus mentioned it in his speech.
