According to K. Seetharam, director IMD Hyderabad Centresaid that there are 70 per cent chances that mansson will be delayed. The monsoon might reach the state after June 15, he added. Apart from a delayed monsoon, as of now, IMD has forecast that there will be less than normal rains this year.
The atmosphere is very dynamic currently, Mr Seetharam, he said. “After May 15, when the monsoon touches the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, we will be able to provide a much clear picture.” “Only one or two indicators are in favour of a timely monsoon and the rest all have a negative impact as of now,” he added.
Unseasonal Rain accompanied by gusty winds played havoc and disrupted power supply of the city on Wednesday leading to overflowing drains at many places. Tarnaka, ECIL, Nacharam and Rajendranagar area came to a halt due to water-logged roads and the whole road was blocked.
