Alleging that the Congress Government was trying to push the future of lakhs of students into the darkness, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu warned of a statewide agitation if the government fails to clarify its stand on Fee
Reimbursement within two days.
Addressing a program organized in a college near Tenali here, the TDP Chief said that his party would cancel all the programs and spearhead the statewide agitation to bring justice to the students if the government fails to address the issue within two days.
Later, Naidu also took part in the sit in protest organized by the Students of VSR College at Tenali. Addressing the gathering, Naidu alleged that future of nearly 25 lakh students of the State was at stake due to government’s lackadaisical attitude. At a time when the Cabinet Sub Committee The recommendations of Cabinet Sub-Committee on Fee Reimbursement are under the active consideration of the State Government.
Talking to reporters at the State Secretariat on Thursday, Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy said that the government was in receipt of recommendations by the Cabinet Sub-Committee. However, no decision has been taken on the issue and it was still under active consideration.
The Minister assured that whatever the decision government might take, it would be in the interest of the students and no harm would be done to students’ future. Replying to allegations made by opposition parties against the Chief Minister, he said that Kiran Kumar Reddy has been trying to reach every common people through Indramma Baata
program. It was wrong to say that the Chief Minister has been ignoring the people’s problems in the state, he said.
TNSF hold protest at Raj Bhavan over fee reimbursement
The Telugu Nadu Students Front on Thursday demanded that the State Government make its stand clear on the Fee Reimbursement scheme before finalising the dates for counseling for admission into engineering courses.
Talking to reporters near Raj Bhavan, where the TNSF organised a sit-in protest,TNSF president Anjanayulu Goud alleged that the government was trying to dilute the Fee Reimbursement scheme and the report of the Cabinet Sub-Committee was a prelude to the proposed dilution. He demanded that the government should reject the
recommendations made by the Cabinet Sub-Committee on the issue.
The TNSF president threatened that the Telugu Desam Party would launch agitation across the State if the government do not reject the recommendations.
The TNSF continued their sit-in protest for about half-an-hour. Later, they were taken into custody when they tried to barge into the Raj Bhavan by breaking the security cordon. They were shifted to a nearby police station and later they were released on bail.
