Hyderabad, November 07: Sensing trouble from disappointed party ticket aspirants and their supporters, the Pradesh Congress Committee decided not to release names of candidates to the media for remaining 20 municipal divisions, but directed the selected party candidates over phone to file their nomination papers immediately as today was the last day for filing of nominations for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections.
It was reported that the PCC had released the candidates’ list for 130 municipal divisions/wards as against a total of 150 last night. It has not finalised the names for the remaining 20 divisions for lack of consensus.
It is learnt that several disappointed ticket aspirants filed their nomination papers as `party rebels’ today. They, along with their local party leaders including MPs and MLAs, have decided to pressurise the State leadership for issue of B-forms to them which are to be submitted before withdrawal of nominations i.e. by November 10.
Meanwhile, the PCC has made special arrangements for issuance of B-forms to selected contesting candidates. The PCC is confident of convincing the `rebels’ to withdraw their nominations.
