The Cyberabad Police have taken 14 suspects persons into custody and confiscated a total of 72 vehicles during the massive Cordon and Search operations conducted in the Kukatpally police limits.
The confiscated vehicles include 56 motorcycles, 12 Auto-rickshaws and four cars. The antecedents of suspected persons, who were taken into custody, are being verified.
The Cordon and Search operations were conducted on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday by a force of about 500 police personnel led by Madhapur DCP Karthikeya. Additional DCsP M Srinivas Rao (L&O), B Srinivas Reddy (Crimes) and E Ramchandra Reddy (OSD – SOT), ACsP Sanjeeva Rao (Kukatpally) and Ramana Moorthy (Madhapur), 20 Inspectors, 56 SIs, 54 ASI/HC’s and about 400 all Ranks of Police personal, two Special Party and one Platoon of Armed Reserve, SOT Staff and CCS Staff have participated in this search operation.
As per the police records, about 10 criminals were residing in the PJR Nagar, Guru Gobind Singh Colony, area where the Cordon and Search operations were conducted. The Crime Records revealed that Yellammabanda area was being used as a shelter by a few pocketers’, motorcycle lifters, house burglars, snatchers, ex-Maoists and non locals from other places of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and other States. The operation was mainly for stolen vehicles and properties, weapons, drugs, history snatchers like suspects, known depredators, dossier criminals, house burglars, and foreigners, etc., police said.
According to DCP, people of Yellammabanda and surrounding localities appreciated the efforts of Cyberabad Police. (INN)
