New Delhi, Sept. 4 : Responding to the cancellation of the registration of Greenpeace India under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) by the government, Greenpeace activist Priya Pillai on Friday said the suspension would have no impact on Greenpeace.
“FCRA cancellation has no impact on Greenpeace. But this is seen as a crackdown not just on Greenpeace, but a crackdown on civil society,” Pillai told ANI
” Greenpeace has not stopped campaigning in this country because the FCRA money has been blocked. We have, in fact, been rigorously campaigning on various issues, and are launching a new campaign against democracy and dissent not just for us, but for a larger political stake hold to save our democratic space,” Pillai added.
