A Pakistani father sold his five-month-old son for SR500 (Dh495), claiming he is an illegitimate baby, a newspaper reported on Thursday.
The man’s wife reported her husband to the police, dismissing his claims that the baby is illegitimate, Saqb Arabic language daily said.
The man told police he sold the baby to a Pakistani woman, who later sold him to another woman of the same nationality.
“The man and the two buyers were arrested…his wife confirmed that the baby is their son as they are legally married,” the paper said in a report from the Western Saudi town of Makkah.
