Father punched infant daughter to death for making ‘baby noises’

Minneapolis: A 21 year old father has been charged with second-degree murder after he admitted to punching his 4-month old daughter to death for making ‘baby noises.’

The accused identified as Cory Morris was arrested on Saturday evening after he called 911 and confessed to hitting baby 22 times to death.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Cory in his statement to the police said that he was home with the baby, Emersyn Morris while his girlfriend, the victim’s mother, Jennifer Anderson was at work.

He was watching TV when the 4-month-old began making baby noises. He tried to calm down the baby but the infant kept making noises.

Therefore, he punched her in the face 15 times with a closed fist and hit her 7 times in the chest ‘to quiet her,’ He further said that he squeezed the girl’s chest with his hands. The baby died as a direct result of Cory’s violent outburst.

“He admitted he punched her approximately fifteen times in the face with a closed fist,” the documents state. “He stated he punched her approximately seven times in the chest with a closed fist. Defendant admitted squeezing her chest with both hands.”

His girlfriend, Jennifer, who was unaware about her boyfriend’s actions was ‘shattered’ after losing ‘the sweetest little girl the world has ever seen.’

Cory has been held at Hennepin County Jail on $22million bail and if convicted, could face up to 40 years in prison.
