Raigad (Maharashtra), May 09: Depressed over a spat with his wife, who left home in anger, a 35-year-old man in a Maharasthra town poisoned his three little children and then committed suicide, police said here Monday.
According to police, Chandrakant Waghmare of Murud town of Raigad district, around 150 km from Mumbai, had a tiff with his wife over some household matter and she left home in anger three days back.
“Waghmare’s wife did not return for three days. Late last (Sunday) night, he poisoned his three children Kavita, 6, Siddhesh, 4, and Geeta, 3, with rat poison and then took it himself,” an official from Murud police station told IANS.
Local police and the neighbours discovered the bodies Monday morning.
The official said the police were trying to contact Waghmare’s wife.
