Father of Asif, victim of sexual assault, seeks justice

12-year-old Asif Jamal of Banaras died at Govt. Special Home for Boys Sayeedabad. During the interrogation 16-year old boy, confessed the crime that he strangled Mohammed Asif Jamal Ansari on latter’s refusal to sodomy. On July 30, 2013 Asif Jamal ran away from his house located at Banaras and reached Hyderabad. Police shifted him to Juvenile Home at Sayeedabad.

His father Mubeen Ansari searched for him for 17 months, he had hoped that one day he would find his son. He was anxiously waiting for his son’s return. Mohammed Mubeen Ansari who is working as a teacher on a paltry sum of 1200 rupees per month did not worry for not having one of his hands, as he hoped that his son would make amends for it and would become his right hand but Allah had a different plan.

40-year-old, Mubeen Ansari who has lost one of his hands told that Asif was his only son. He claimed that Asif died due to negligence of Juvenile home authorities. Had they informed him in Varanasi about Asif’s whereabouts, instead of keeping him here for 17 months the tragedy would not have occurred.

He thanked Siasat editor for arranging funeral rites of his son through Siasat Millat Fund. Although compensation won’t substitute, his son, Juvenile home authorities should give Rs/- 5 lakh as compensation to Mubeen Ansari.
