Fasting has spiritual and physical benefits

While fasting is beneficial spiritually, it has physical benefits too. Fasting helps in bringing sugar, cholesterol, salt etc to normal level. It is also effective in BP, sugar and other heart diseases. Fasting gives the digestive tract time to completely rest and restores good digestion. Dr. Mohammed Samiuz Zama Cardiologist expressed these views at the weekly congregation at Basti Nabi Kareem Bahadurpura.

He explained in detail the nature’s unparalleled system of human body in the light of modern science, and advised the fasting Muslims to avoid spicy and fatty foods and to keep their body active through optional prayers and taraweeh.
