Fast Track Courts To Deal With Rape Cases Demanded

Leaders of Vidyarthi, Yuvajana and Mahila Sanghams have organized a ‘human-chain’ at RTC cross roads here on Monday, in protest against the increasing number of rape incidents in the country. They demanded the government to establish fast-track courts to speed up the disposal of rape cases.

Addressing on the occasion, Nageswara Rao, city president, student federation of India (SFI) demanded implementation of the recommendations of ‘Varma committee’, and a debate in the Parliament. He remarked that several accused were escaping legal punishment.

Mahender Reddy, city president, DYFI, Aruna, city president, AIDWA, were among the participants. (NSS)
