Fast growth gets accolades: Etala

Telangana is fast developing state in India and is making rapid strides in chosen sectors Finance Minister Etala Rajender has said.

Participating in a debate on budget in the Assembly on Friday, the Finance Minister said the youngest State was getting accolades from the Cetnre and other States for its speedy growth. Though the Centre used to be averse to the State, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley appreciated Telangana Government for registering rapid development. The TRS also emerged revenue surplus State during 2015-16. Though demonetization had its adverse affect for the first three months, later the situation has changed significantly due to steps taken by the State government, he claimed.

He also said they reached the budget revenue expectations last year and could not do so the revenues from land sale in the wake of note ban decision. “While we have spent 85 per cent of funds during 2015-16 and 86 per cent during 2016-17, the Finance Minister stated. Rajender said the government has come up with a unique budget for the 2017-18 fiscal by taking suggestions from experts and experienced economists. A total of Rs 97,823 crore were spent by achieving 19.33 per cent growth during 2015-16 financial year, he claimed.

To reach its goal of golden Telangana, the government has taken up a big initiative launching various developmental programs from villages enabling the people to grow and flourish gradually. Now that the villages are witnessing rapid development, he remarked. Citing welfare schemes, he said the government has increased Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak amounts to Rs 75,116 from Rs 51,000 and was ready to spend huge funds for providing fine rice to the hostels across the State.
