Hyderabad: Congress MLC, Mr. Mohammed Farooq Husain condemned the demand of dropping Urdu and Arabic languages from the school and college curricula. Shiva Sena’s organ, “Samna” carried an article demanding the Central Govt. to stop teaching Urdu and Arabic language and also to make Hindi and English languages compulsory. In the article mentioned above, there are also demand to stop Arabic education in Deeni Madrasas.
Mr. Farooq Husain told that India is a Secular and Democratic Country wherein all the religious denominations are free to profess and propagate their religions. He further said that Deeni Madrasas played an important role in the freedom struggle of India and have offered sacrifices. The Urdu slogan “Inqilab Zindabad” created enthusiasm in the freedom fighters. Those who supported the British are now spreading venom against the teaching of Urdu and Arabic. BJP and Shiva Sena have failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people and hence they are giving controversial statements like this in order to divert the attention of the people.
