Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has decided to nominate Mr. Mohammed Farooq Husain as party candidate for the post of council chairman. Notification has been issued for election on the post of chairman of Telangana legislative assembly on July 2.
A meeting of prominent party leaders was held at Gandhi Bhawan on Monday under the presidentship of committee president Mr. Ponnala Laxmaiah. Since 5 Congress members have joined TRS the party has come into minority.
In the meeting, the names of Mr. Farooq Husain from Muslim community and Mr. Prabhakar from SC community were mulled over. Sources close to the party revealed that it has been decided to nominate Mohammed Farooq Husain for the post.
