Srinagar, October 08: Union Minister Farooq Abdullah today appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to maintain peace as it was imperative for resolution of various issues.
“I appeal to the people to strive hard to maintain peace and law and order as it is imperative for resolution of issues,” Abdullah, who is also the president of ruling National Conference.
He was addressing party leaders and workers at his residence here.
Kashmir has been in the grip of violent protests since June 11 when a 17-year-old boy was killed after he was hit by a tear smoke shell during clashes at Rajouri Kadal in the interior city. So far, over 100 people have been killed in the unrest in the Valley.
