Farmers are happy with TRS Govt: Tummala

Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao on Wednesday claimed that the farmers across Telangana State were happy with the performance of the TRS Government.

Speaking to media persons here, Tummala said that the State Government has initiated a comprehensive survey which would resolve all land disputes. He said several measures have been taken for the growth of agriculture sector and welfare of farmers. He said irrigation projects were being constructed to provide water to one crore acres of land. He said all pending irrigation projects were being completed on war footing.

Tummala said that the opposition parties have no right to criticise the TRS Government as it has taken several historic steps for farmers’ welfare. He said farmers were being equipped with latest equipment. He said it was due to the focus of State Government that the farmers were able to create a record in the production of paddy in the Rabi season. He said that the TRS Government has fulfilled the promise of waiving off Rs. 17,000 crore crop loans.

The minister also claimed that the agriculture sector has witnessed growth and increase in farming activity after TRS came to power. He said three agriculture polytechnic colleges were established and godowns were constructed in all mandals. He said all sections of society were given representation in Market Committees.

Tummala alleged that the Congress leaders were trying to obstruct the construction of irrigation projects in the State. (INN)
