Farmer problems a legacy of UPA: Sadhvi

Ludhiana: Union minister of state for Food Processing Industry Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti on Monday said the problems faced by the farmers, the poor and the labourers are “not a sudden creation and is a legacy of UPA rule” in the country.

“They are legacy of the Congress or the UPA governments,” she said while addressing the media persons here in connection with the foundation laying ceremony of a Food Processing Park at village Ladhowal in Ludhiana.

She said the NDA government at Centre was “only trying to solve the problems” created by its predecessors.

Today the BJP-led government has made ‘neem coated urea’ available to all, she said.

Had the Congress or UPA government attended to the needs of people earlier, there was no need of any ‘Padyatra’ by the Congress leaders, she said.

While condemning the shoe hurling incident at Rahul Gandhi in Sitapur of Uttar Pradesh on Monday, she said incidents like these were a negation of democracy.

When asked about the impact of Priyanka Gandhi on the politics, she said “Priyanka will prove as big a flop as Rahul Gandhi.”

Now Congress was a “spent force” and no body could save it from “total extinction”, she added.
