Farmer ends life over land dispute

Amondi, February 10: A 46-year-old farmer, Sadashiv Janaji Phalke who consumed a poisonous liquid at the Tehsil office in Ghodegaon on Monday, died at the Sassoon Hospital while undergoing treatment on Tuesday. Phalke was a resident of Amondi village in Ambegaon taluka,

According to the police, Phalke had a dispute over land with the Parkhe family in his village. The Parkhe family stays on the route going towards the well owned by Phalke.

Phalke had filed his complaint with the Tantamukta Samiti of his village, the Ghodegaon police station, the revenue officer of Ambegaon, and also with the tehsildar Prashant Patil.

On Monday afternoon, Phalke went to the tehsildar’s office at Ghodegaon with his complaint. But tehsildar Patil said that he has received many such complaints. Patil asked Phalke to come later. A frustrated Phalke then consumed poison outside the tehsil office.
