Hyderbad, August 26: Mahmoud Sarfari Farkhud has taken over as Consul General of Islamic Republic of Iran in Hyderabad. Before his present assignment, he worked as director general, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs since August 2004. Prior to this he was Deputy Ambassador of Iran at Tbilisi, Georgia.
He authored a number of articles on foreign policy of India in journals of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamic Republic of Iran and on relations of India with Central Asian countries. He is a postgraduate in political science and is well versed in English and Persian. He was born in Mashad, Iran in 1967.
