Farhana Sultana murder case accused arrested

Hyderabad, May 4: Banjara Hills Police arrested the car driver involved in the ghastly murder of Farhana Sultana and theft of gold ornaments and seized the stolen objects from his possession.

Police Banjara Hills told that Mohammad Zakir Miyan alias Sohail arrived from Bidar to Hyderabad in search of livelihood two years ago and started working as a van driver in Raghava Industries situated at NDA Nacharam.

Zakir and Farhana Sultan met at Secunderabad railway station and the meeting turned into friendship. Meanwhile Zakir sought financial help from Farhana pretending to be a debtor. The slain girl promised to give him gold and silver jewellery on condition of marrying her.

On April 11 Zakir arrived at Farhana’s house when her family members were not present in the house. Arriving at her house Zakir asked her to hand over the jewellery to which she refused. Consequently Zakir got angry. He decided to kill Farhana hence he took her in the bedroom and throttled her while giving blows in her stomach leaving her unconscious. He didn’t stop there but attacked her neck and stomach with scissors and fled with jewellery and mobile phone.

Police arrested Zakir and sent him to jail
