The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Thursday objected to seizure of cash belonging to businessmen by the City Police.
FAPCCI President Devendra Surana and Secretary General MV Rajeshwara Rao called on City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma and represented to him that in view of security reasons, the police were carrying out inspections at various strategic places on persons, vehicles, malls. If during these inspections if police personnel find people carrying cash, they are being put to hardships and even the cash is seized, they complained.
In order to help the persons of industry and business to carry cash for the purpose of business or for the purpose of depositing into bank, it was suggested that they may be allowed to carry cash if they produce a letter of identity from their company, or PAN Card or an identity card pertaining to the business.
Anurag Sharma reportedly agreed to this suggestion and issued necessary instructions to the concerned Officers.
The FAPCCI advised its members to note this and whenever their persons were carrying cash for business purposes, such persons may also carry a letter from the company, or an identity card or PAN Card, so that they do not have difficulty during the inspections. (INN)
