New Delhi: The 3-day meeting of the Markazi Majlis Shura of Jamat-e-Islami Hind was concluded under the chairmanship of Maulana Jalaluddin Umri. Problems confronted by the community, major judgments of Supreme Court, rising lawlessness in the country, communal conflicts, provocative statements regarding Ram Mandir, interventions in free democratic institutions and Israeli attacks on Gaza were discussed at length during the 3-day meeting.
The Markazi Shura of Jamat-e-Islami lamented and expressed concerned over some of the verdicts of Supreme Court which are feared to promote waywardness; especially the court judgment regarding adultery etc. They will also affect the family system. JIH appealed to revise the judgment keeping in view the destruction it may cause to the society.
