Hyderabad, September 10: If we analyse our society we would know that there are many persons who are lethargic and they don’t wnat to work, they by invited self-imposed poverty. They took it for granted that it is their ill-fortune and started leading the life of misery as if they have achived the motto of their life. Burning their self-respect, in the name of poverty ,people resort to begging. Included in this category are the veiled women and appron clad men. They have adopted beggary as their profession.
You may find women wearing veil and crying for their poverty. They tell fake stories to gain sympathy of the people. The number of such fake beggars is on the increase in the city. We would like to expose the reality hidden behind their faces. One such veiled woman was standing outside Masjid Joodi ,King Koti with a photo of a girl and an wedding invitation card in her hand. She was seeking financial help from the people coming out of the mosque. When I assured her help , I asked her adress. She fled from that place as if she doesn’t need any monetary help.
The wedding card in her hand was dated 20 days ahead so as to facilitate her to beg till 20 days more from now. After a fews days, another woman was having a girl’s photo and a wedding card. She was seeking financial help from a shop keeper when I put the same questions to her, she showed some courage to furnish her address and told that she is a resident of Fatimanagar in Nawab Saheb Kunta near Jahanuma area in the old city. In order to find out the truth and with an intentions to help her, I visited Fatima Nagar i enquried about her at a pan shop. He directed me to a barber’s shop. When I contacted the barber, he looked at me from top to bottom and told why are you wasting your time, sir? go back to your home.
There are four to five houses in this locality. The women of which wander in the city for begging and make people fool. the woman who are showing you the photos are not photos of their daughters but these are thier own photos of their youth time not of theirs daughters. When I insisted,he showed me the address of that woman. It was a locality of the beggars. The house was merely a one room tenament. It was a small house covering an areaof 35 sq yards. There was an old man who was handicapped. He had lost one leg.
He was watching TV. When I narrated the story of the beggar woman. He said that it is a fake story. It may be mentioned that, there are 30 factories in Chandulal Baradari area where Muslim women work earning Rs 130 to 150 daily to meet their household expenses.
The woman who wnater on the roads and resort to begging are fake. We should not help such professional beggars. If we do so,it amounts to depriving the really poor and the needy persons who need our help.
