Falak Case: Police pass buck over sex racket

Failing to achieve any breakthrough in the child sex racket which emerged out of the baby Falak case, the Delhi Police have now started passing the buck.

The south- east district police, who have been investigating the case, now say the south- district police should look into the matter.

Considering the police’s apparent inaction in investigating the allegedly rampant child trafficking and abuse in the city, the child welfare committee ( CWC) has recommended that the case be transferred to the anti- human trafficking cell of the Delhi Police Crime Branch.

Proving the CWC’s charge, the investigating officer of the south- east district police wing submitted his status report on Thursday, which claimed raids on the hotels in Mahipalpur mentioned by 14- year- old Sunita ( name changed) had yielded nothing.

The report added that said hotels fell under the jurisdiction of the south district police, asking for the sex racket probe to be transferred to them.

The girl who made the allegations was the one who brought baby Falak to AIIMS, and is, by her admission, a victim of flesh trade.

She revealed specific details about the hotels in Delhi where minor and young girls are forced into prostitution and asked to ‘ entertain’ up to seven men in one day.
