Dubai, October 03: Two Bangladeshis allegedly conned an Indian of Dh19,500 by issuing him a forged work permit.
The Dubai Prosecution accused MMA, 35, abra captain, and JAA, 24, cleaner, of forging work visas that they claimed they got from the Dubai Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department.
Shafi Nasir, 34, also an abra captain, testified that MMA promised him work visas if he wanted to bring any person to the UAE. When he requested for one work visa, he was asked to pay Dh19,500. “It was only when my nephew was stopped from boarding the flight from Bangladesh because his visa was not genuine that I realised I was conned,” Nasir testified.
Meanwhile, MMA denied any knowledge of forging visas and said JAA was responsible for issuing the visa and that he ony sold visas handed over to him.
The court adjourned the case until October 16.
