Noida: On the pretext of giving distributorship of Patanjali brand for Rs 10 Lakh, cyber-criminals are deceiving the investors.
A trader registered a complaint in Sector 63 with the Noida police cyber crime branch after getting duped by website ‘www.patanjalidistributors.org’ which offered to provide distributorship for Patanjali products’ for Rs 10 Lakh, reports India Today.
An operator of alleged fake website contacted the owner of Katyayani Trades, police said. When the owner, R K Verma, paid the money, the cybercriminals stopped answering his calls and emails. Following this, a complaint was filed with the cyber cell.
The fake site is similar to the real one, having pictures of Baba Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna and Patanjali products on its homepage.
“It is difficult to make out the difference between the real and the fake website,” said a senior police officer.
“Be aware of the fake website www.patanjalidistributors.org, offering Patanjali distributorship asking money in lakhs. FIR registered in Noida. Please share to save others,” tweeted Vivek Ranjan Rai, head of the cyber wing.
